Darren Kendrick is a professional actor whose credits include Thor, World War Z, I Am Number Four, Criminal Minds, and numerous other films and television projects. He has also appeared in commercials for prestigious brands such as Porsche, Nikon, and the nation of Colombia. Known for his versatility, Darren embraces a wide range of roles. Simply put, he thrives in dynamic environments and channels his adventurous spirit into his performances. One of his standout roles was as the "Sentry Frost Giant" in the film Thor, directed by the acclaimed Sir Kenneth Branagh. Darren dedicated two months of training before filming to master the demanding stunts required. In the movie, he portrayed "The Sentry," a Frost Giant guard serving King Laufey. His character sparks the conflict by telling Thor to "Run Back Home Little Princess" and attempts to freeze Loki, only to discover Loki's Frost Giant heritage. Darren was thrilled to be immortalized as an action figure alongside his fellow cast members.
Beyond mainstream projects, Darren has appeared in various independent films such as Disorder, Infliction, One Buck, Snowbound, and A Mormon President. He starred in Without Mercy, which won the Grand Jury Award for Best Picture at the New York Film and Video Festival. He also led in Disorder, distributed by Universal Pictures and re-released by Monarch Films in fall 2017; this film was also showcased at the Cannes Film Festival.
Currently, Darren appears in the Netflix Original series Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever., portraying the eye patch-wearing FBI Agent Schade.
Born in Cape Cod, Darren’s path to acting began after his family relocated to St. Simons Island, eight miles off the coast of Georgia. There, he became a professional equestrian at a young age. Although passionate about riding, his focus shifted after becoming involved in local community theater, igniting his love for acting. Darren pursued this passion at Long Island University, earning a B.F.A. in theater and film. He excelled in acting, dance, voice, and improv studies during his time at LIU. After graduation, he moved to New York City to further hone his craft, working with various theater companies. Darren later embarked on a year-long modeling career across Europe, living in Paris, Athens, Madrid, and Milan. For the past eight years, he has been based in Los Angeles, pursuing his passion for the arts and embracing opportunities alongside fellow storytellers.
No matter where his travels have taken him, each experience has enriched his perspective and informed his work. When not on set, Darren enjoys volunteering at the Braille Institute, traveling, playing golf and tennis, and spending time with friends. He is also known to take occasional road trips across the United States.
