Will Keenan is a producer, actor, director, writer, consultant, and stuntman who studied theater, psychology, philosophy, and dance at New York University. He has acted in and produced over 20 independent films across New York City, Hollywood, and Bollywood, many of which have been screened internationally. Keenan began his career in underground and cult films, playing lead roles in Tromeo and Juliet and Love God (now Focus Features). His notable starring and producing credits include Politics of Love, The Ghastly Love of Johnny X, Chop, Terror Firmer, Margarita Happy Hour, The Love Machine, Hoofboy, OMC, Hisss, and Trick. In 2004, he portrayed "Billy Tripley" in a popular episode of Law and Order: SVU, rumored to reference Michael Jackson, as reported by NBC's Access Hollywood, the New York Post's Page Six, and others.
Keenan produced three songs and two music videos for the Hisss soundtrack, facilitating an East-West collaboration featuring Dave Kushner of Velvet Revolver with Indian actress/singer/lyricist Shruti Haasan, Julian Lennon with Mallika Sherawat, and Panjabi MC with Filmfare Award-winning singer Shweta Pandit. The Bollywood Soundtrack Charts ranked "I Got That Poison," performed by Panjabi MC and Shweta Pandit, in the Top Ten from October 24 through November 5, 2010. In 2009, Keenan founded the Indo-American production company and consultancy Nuclear Mango, selling his stake in 2011.
Keenan was an invited participant at the 2000 Sundance Institute Film Labs and won Best Actor at the 2002 Brooklyn International Film Festival. OMC, co-directed by Keenan, received positive reviews for his acting and stunt work, with some websites dubbing him a modern-day Buster Keaton. He has worked under the company name Hoverground in New York City and, until 2011, under Nuclear Mango in Los Angeles.
In 1998, Keenan produced and programmed a 10-day arts exchange called PhillyHoverground between New York City and Philadelphia, held at venues including International House and the Shubert Theater. The festival featured art, theater, dance, and film screenings, including Philadelphia's first public theatrical showings of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's Cannibal! The Musical and Harmony Korine's Gummo.
During his teenage years, Keenan received the Hugh O'Brien Youth Foundation Award and the Presidential Classroom Award. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
