He built his career as a lead actor in several low-budget films, community theater productions, off-Broadway musicals, and Shakespeare plays. In 2023, Andreas is set to take on his most significant role yet, portraying Marlon Brando in the new musical "Cocktails with Brando," which will be performed on Broadway and nationwide.
Born Andreas Brandy Archontakis in Bonningheim, Germany, he is the son of Gus Archontakis, a projector operator, and Anthoula Petropolis, a homemaker. He is also heir to the late Andreas Archontakis, former CEO of a movie theater company in Crete, Greece. Andreas grew up in Clearwater, Florida, where he developed a passion for drama while attending Countryside High School. He dedicated much of his free time to studying Shakespeare intensively at Gramercy Park Studios in Manhattan.
In his early twenties, Andreas relocated to Chicago and trained as a boxer at Windy City Gym. In 1997, he moved to Los Angeles to continue his acting studies at the Beverly Hills Playhouse under the guidance of his first acting coach, Milton Katsalas, focusing on Acting, Attitude, and Administration. His community theater credits include the role of the musclebound toy boy "Rocky The Creature" in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," performed to sold-out audiences at the Polk Theater in Lakeland, Florida. He was also cast in the hit musical "The Full Monty," performing for two months of weekend sold-out shows at the CWP Theater in Tampa, Florida.
In 2018, Andreas returned to Manhattan to begin auditions for The Actors Studio, where he performed as Biff in Tennessee Williams' "Death of a Salesman." That same year, he landed a leading role in the indie film "Polterheist," a Paranormal Activity-style movie shot in Tampa, Florida, which was an official selection at the Sunscreen Film Festival. Andreas currently resides in New York and has been cast in three Shakespeare productions: Pistol in "Henry IV," Flute in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," and William in "As You Like It," all featured in "Shakespeare's Greatest Hits," directed by Shakespearean acting coach Dee O'Brien.
