Tamara Mikhailovna Abrosimova was born on November 11, 1939, in Russia, then part of the Soviet Union. She studied acting at the State School of Acting at the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT). Throughout her career, she performed in over 70 stage roles and also appeared in films and on television.
Since 1965, Abrosimova has been a permanent member of the troupe at the Komissarzhevskaya Theatre in St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad). Her stage colleagues included notable actors such as Galina Korotkevich, Ivan Krasko, Natalya Chetverikova, Natalya Danilova, Valentina Panina, Tatyana Samarina, Elena Simonova, Aleksandr Galibin, Yefim Kamenetsky, Mikhail Khrabrov, Georgiy Korolchuk, Stanislav Landgraf, Boris Sokolov, and Peter Shelokhonov.
Renowned for her finesse and stage presence, Tamara Abrosimova delivered memorable performances in numerous productions, including the role of Irina in "Tsar Fedor Ioannovich," based on Aleksei Tolstoy’s play, and Tamara in "Pyat vecherov," among others. She has also served as an acting coach at the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatre and Cinematography and as a professor at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Over the years, Abrosimova has portrayed a wide range of characters on stage, in film, and on television, and she has given notable readings of Russian classical literature on various popular radio programs in Leningrad-St. Petersburg.
Tamara Abrosimova was honored with the title of People's Artist of Russia and received awards recognizing her contributions to stage and film. She currently resides in St. Petersburg, Russia.
