Rick has over thirty years of experience in entertainment and cause-related marketing, content, media, and events. As a producer of five feature-length films, he received top honors at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and the Santa Clarita International Film Festival. His video and television work has garnered 15 Telly Awards®.
His production management experience includes serving as VP & General Manager of TeleScene, a division of KUTV-Television, and Director of Marketing & Development for STS Productions.
Additional roles include VP of Production & Acquisition for Feature Films for Families, one of the largest independent producers and distributors serving over four million families. In this position, he oversaw film production, expanded co-financing partnerships, enhanced production value, and secured top talent to open new distribution channels. He also served as Director of Marketing & Development for Donny Osmond Entertainment.
Rick has created award-winning messaging and events for clients such as American Stores, AT&T, Converse, Jeep, Kenwood Electronics, Parenting Magazine, Children's Miracle Network, and the United States Olympic Committee.
He secured sponsorship for the 1987 Doobie Brothers Reunion Tour, which began at the Hollywood Bowl, and authored strategic film, marketing, and educational plans for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games (focusing on educational programming) and Universal Family Entertainment.
As Executive Vice President of Entertainment Financing at JP Michael & Associates, a regional investment banking firm in Burbank, CA, he structured film financing packages.
His nonprofit sector work began as President of the Operation Kids Foundation, where he produced five national galas honoring Lifetime Achievement Award recipients including John Walsh (America's Most Wanted), Steve Young (NFL Hall of Famer), Bill and Kathy Magee (co-founders of Operation Smile), and U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch. Headlining artists featured LeAnn Rimes, Kenny Loggins, Gladys Knight, Collin Raye, Jim Brickman, and Donny Osmond. Additional projects involved collaboration with Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees in post-Katrina New Orleans.
