Macee Binns is a versatile artist known for pushing creative limits both on camera and behind the scenes. Based in Hollywood, she has earned acclaim as an award-winning writer, casting director, and actress, with a diverse portfolio that includes film, television, commercials, print campaigns, live events, and viral content.
Before moving behind the camera, Macee gained on-screen recognition with roles in cult films such as FDR: American Badass!, American Ultra, The Fortune Theory, Static, and Miles Away. She also appeared on TV shows including 2 Broke Girls, Men of a Certain Age, Man Up, The Doctors, and Luck. Showcasing her comedic talents, she performed in a sketch with Andy Samberg on Comedy Bang! Bang! Additionally, she explored her interest in the mysterious with multiple appearances on The History Channel’s Hangar 1: The UFO Files, which later ranked in Netflix’s Top 10.
As a casting director, Macee has contributed to over 300 projects including commercials, films, reality shows, documentaries, music videos, game shows, live events, and print campaigns for global brands like Netflix, Marc Jacobs, Hyundai, Apple, H&M, Vice, Starbucks, J.Crew, and Disney. Early in her casting career, she distinguished herself with exceptional work on the acclaimed Microsoft Xbox "We All Win" and Mastercard "True Name" Super Bowl campaigns—both of which won prestigious Cannes Lions Grand Prix awards for their innovative storytelling.
In 2024, Macee co-founded Black Sheep Casting alongside longtime collaborators Fernanda Chaves and Mercedes Manning, launching a casting company dedicated to promoting diversity, authenticity, and bold creative vision. Black Sheep Casting quickly made a significant impact, with projects featured during the Super Bowl and at the Cannes Film Festival, earning multiple awards. Notable achievements include casting Cetaphil’s Swiftie-themed Super Bowl commercial, "Game Time Glow," hailed as the Most Emotional Ad of the Night by Vogue, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety. They also cast Crayola’s "Returning Creativity" documentary, which won three Bronze Cannes Lions and Best in Integration at the 2025 PRWeek US Awards.
Macee’s writing career is equally impressive, and where her true passion lies. She is known for crafting bold, unapologetic stories centered on unique female leads, spanning award-winning screenplays, plays, articles, and short stories. Her standout screenplay, Hand Twins, a fearless female-led romantic drama, challenged norms and earned 17 screenwriting awards, including Best Feature Screenplay at the 2022 California Women’s Film Festival. The script was also a Semifinalist in the 2022 ScreenCraft Film Fund Feature Competition (judged by Mark Duplass) and a Finalist in the 2021 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. LA Indies Independent Film Magazine recognized Macee as an Up-and-Coming Hollywood Screenwriter, and in January 2023, Hand Twins was featured on the prestigious Cannes Film Awards Distribution List as Screenplay of the Month.
In her latest screenwriting project, Macee completed The Pyramid Scheme, a bold, female-driven revenge thriller blending psychological suspense with dark humor and horror. The script offers a sharp critique of misogyny, exploring the extreme measures scorned women take to reclaim power in a male-dominated society. The Pyramid Scheme has garnered industry attention, ranking among the top 14 scripts in InkTip’s 2025 Pitch to Page Feature Screenwriting Contest.
Beyond screenwriting, Macee has succeeded as a playwright, with her works performed at regional and community theaters nationwide. Monologues from her original play Stone Cold Sober were selected by Smith & Kraus Publishers for inclusion in The Best Women’s Stage Monologues of 2017, available at major retailers like Barnes & Noble and Target. Her play Row 28 was published by JAC Publishing & Promotions, and her comedic one-act Candi With an I was acquired by Heuer Publishing, featured in their Catalog for the Performing Arts, and is sold worldwide.
Macee’s storytelling extends into journalism, where she has written editorial content for major outlets including TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz, with several articles going viral and accumulating over 3 million views. She also spent two years as a general assignment reporter for The Canyon News in Los Angeles. In 2018, she joined Dancing Iguana Productions as a segment writer and creative producer for the popular podcast Left Unsupervised with Elizabeth Morales, available on iTunes and Spotify.
