Raised carefree in Friesland, northern Netherlands, Hilda van der Meulen competed passionately as a national-level equestrian. On a whim, she entered and unexpectedly won the Miss Holland Beauty Pageant, going on to represent the Netherlands at the Miss World competition in Sun City, South Africa.
After fulfilling her Miss Holland duties for a year, Hilda discovered a new world of opportunities. Her demand as a model, and later as an actress and presenter, took her first to London and then to Los Angeles, where she lived for several years. She was accepted into the prestigious Beverly Hills Playhouse Acting School, becoming a working film and TV actress while receiving training in all aspects of filmmaking, including screenwriting, character development, and translating scripts into practical scenes on set. She then established a production company, focusing on the creative and developmental sides of the film industry. Her connections with top Hollywood producers, distributors, international investors, and film financiers led her to travel frequently between Europe and the USA.
After more than a decade of involvement in various projects as both talent and executive producer, she returned to rural Friesland to live with her horses and concentrate on producing films and entertainment in her homeland. Her Hollywood experience, expertise, and versatility provide a broad creative perspective and facilitate international growth.
As the creative producer of Farmhouse, Hilda van der Meulen oversaw the preliminary stages of film and television production. Her responsibilities included generating original ideas, transforming them into commercially viable concepts, guiding script development, and assembling the right team.
