Born in France, Hervé Renoh is a multicultural and multilingual writer and director working across Paris, Montreal, and Los Angeles. After directing several award-winning short films, TV movies, scripted TV episodes, and commercials in France, he wrote and directed the feature films Requiem and Coursier, with the latter released internationally as Paris Express.
Requiem, an action thriller produced by Mars Films and Fidelity Productions, premiered on over a hundred screens in France and later in 35 countries across Europe, South America, and Asia. It was featured at the Sitges International Film Festival, Fantastica Film Festival in Brussels, and the Mauvais Genre Film Festival in La Réunion.
His second feature, the action-comedy Coursier (internationally titled Paris Express), was produced by Luc Besson's Europacorp—known for Lucy, the Transporter and Taken franchises, and Valerian. It ranked eighth at the national box office during its opening week on more than three hundred French screens and was selected to represent France at the Singapore Film Festival.
Hervé Renoh’s films have been distributed in over 50 countries worldwide. Paris Express reached sixth place at the Chinese national box office, becoming one of only two European films to enter China’s Top 10, and was among the 20 most internationally profitable French theatrical releases of 2011-2012, according to Ecran Total.
He then directed Jack of Diamonds, an English-language feature-length pilot for an international TV series produced by Muse Entertainment (USA/Canada), Gaumont (France), and ZDF (Germany). This pilot was nominated for Best Writing in a Dramatic Television Series at the 26th Canadian Gemini Awards, which led to Hervé securing U.S. representation with Paradigm Agency in Los Angeles.
Following this, Hervé Renoh co-wrote the Chinese remake of Paris Express (Super Express) for Fundamental Films, targeting the Chinese market, and developed a range of TV and film projects across the U.S., Canada, and France with Voltage Pictures, Coup d'Etat, Radar Films, Studio Canal, SND, M6 Films, 5656 Films, as well as with Terence Chang and John Woo's Lion Rock Productions. He has collaborated with internationally renowned directors such as Kim Jee-Woon and Fabrice Du Welz.
A prolific writer and director for scripted television, he has directed over 30 episodes of major French TV series, all achieving high ratings. In 2016, his episode of the popular French police drama Section de Recherches aired on France’s leading network TF1, marking the series’ highest viewership in five years with over 7.3 million viewers. His most recent TV project, a feature-length episode of France 3’s acclaimed Cassandre series, won the Grand Prize for Best French TV Series at the 2017 Festival du Film de Cognac.
