With over twenty years in the industry, Thomas is recognized for his dedication to advertising, documentaries, and feature films. After co-directing with his partner Philipp Kadelbach in the advertising and music video sectors, he rapidly gained popularity as a director and cinematographer in the outdoor and action sports arena. Following the success of his feature documentary "Cerro Torre, a Snowball's Chance in Hell," he expanded into commercial and feature film production.

Thomas has filmed numerous music videos and commercials for global brands such as Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Chevrolet, Amnesty International, Caritas, UBS, Burger King, Hornbach, Wrigley's, OMV, and Swiss Tourism.
Author / Director / DoP – 2010 to 2013
Working with Red Bull Media House, Thomas documented world-class climber David Lama’s free ascent of Cerro Torre, one of the most challenging mountains to climb. After three years of production, the film revolutionized climbing documentaries and set new benchmarks in action sports and aerial cinematography. It premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

For Autostadt's "Panoramakino," Thomas produced a series of five mini-biopics, directing and shooting them himself for display on Europe’s largest LED screen. He utilized a custom rig with three 6K cameras to capture a seamless, immersive 12K format.
DoP – 2017
Thomas served as Director of Photography for his longtime collaborator Philipp Kadelbach on the feature film "So viel Zeit" for UFA Fiction. The film features acclaimed German actors including Jürgen Vogel, Jan-Josef Liefers, Armin Rohde, and Ritchie Müller, with a release planned for winter 2018.
