WHO IS RASHAD? Rashad Smith, a standout basketball player at Hattiesburg High School, is a self-taught musician famously known as the "singing baller." Driven by his ambition to work hard, entertain, and succeed, he has grown into a skilled vocalist, writer, dancer, producer, and entertainer. Rashad has released two albums: I Never Thought (June 2006) and Multi-Talented (January 2017). His passion for diverse music genres and overcoming urban life challenges has made him one of the South's leading young lyricists. Like a chameleon, he effortlessly adapts to any style—from smooth, sultry ballads to energetic pop and gritty, down-home blues. On stage, his captivating presence, smooth vocals, and charming appearance command attention. Smith’s natural talent in singing, dancing, and playing instruments consistently leaves audiences wanting more, making him a true crowd favorite.

Rashad’s journey is a source of inspiration, marked by numerous achievements. After experiencing the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he performed in The Katrina Project: Hell and High Water, earning the "Best Supporting Actor" award and recognition from the Mississippi Theatre Association. His determination to pursue his dreams has led to acting roles in Beautiful Creatures, the James Brown biopic Get On Up, and other projects. Drawing on guidance from Hill Harper, Ivana Chubbuck, Lance Nicholas, Chadwick Boseman, and other notable figures, Rashad fuels his passion for acting. For over a decade, he has toured across the United States and as far as Brazil, sharing his powerful voice and remarkable talents with audiences worldwide.
