Sera-Lys McArthur is a versatile screen and stage actor, producer, model, martial artist, horseback rider, and musical theatre enthusiast. A prairie native with big city aspirations, she proudly represents the Nakota/Assiniboine Nation and was raised by her German-Canadian single mother in southern Saskatchewan.
Growing up in a remote area, she began her acting career at age 13. She later relocated to New York City to study musical theatre and earned an MA in Acting from East 15 Acting School at the University of Essex in the UK. Sera-Lys has found success in both Canada and the US, gaining recognition with recurring roles in series like Arctic Air, Hard Rock Medical, Burden of Truth, and Pretty Hard Cases. She delivered a memorable guest performance as Mohawk healer Johiehon in episode 412, "Providence," of the Starz series Outlander. She also showcased her comedic skills opposite Cobie Smulders in episode 203 of Netflix's Friends From College. She stars as the female lead in independent films Robbery, Don't Say Its Name, and The First Encounter, and holds a significant supporting role in the acclaimed film adaptation of Monkey Beach. As a rising producer, she has completed several short films including kwêskosîw (She Whistles), Pharmalarm, Magic Madeleines, and The Wolf of Waubamik Woods, with more projects underway.
When not developing new plays and films or engaging in theatrical residencies, Sera-Lys teaches ESL online to children abroad, explores New York's culinary scene, enjoys time in Central Park with her dog, and attends numerous theatre performances.
