Norberto López Amado is a film and television director born in Orense. He holds degrees in Law and Cinematography and began his career in the audiovisual sector as a director and producer at the EFE Agency for nine years. During this time, he also directed and produced his early short films, "El espíritu de la Luna" and "La mirada del Ángel."
His professional fiction debut came in 2002 with the film "Nos Miran," featuring Carmelo Gómez and Iciar Bollaín. Since then, he has directed three more feature films: "La decisión de Julia" (2016), the documentary "How Much Does Your Building Weigh, Mr. Foster?" (2010), and "El Cuaderno de Sara" (2018), starring Belén Rueda. In 2024, he directed "El cuento del Lobo," which he also wrote; it is scheduled for release in 2025.
In television, López Amado has directed over 25 prime time series, including award-winning shows such as "El Príncipe" (Ondas National Television Award for Best Spanish Series, Iris Awards, Vitoria Festival Award), "El tiempo entre costuras" (Ondas Award, Fotogramas de Plata, Iris Awards, Vitoria Festival Award), and "Mar de plástico" (Ondas Award, Dirige Award, Feroz Awards). His notable directorial work also includes series like "Ángela," "El Comisario," "Mentiras," "La República," "La cocinera de Castamar," "El Internado," "El Pantano," "Herederos," "Los Simuladores," "Acusados," and "Tierra de Lobos," among others.
