Simon Johann Buchner was born on Friday, January 13, 1984, in Wangen im Allgäu, Germany. His mother worked as a laboratory technician, and his father, who has passed away, was a bank executive. Simon has three siblings. After graduating and gaining several years of experience in the film industry, he pursued Producing studies at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg GmbH. During this time, UFA-CEO Nico Hofmann served as one of his project mentors, and he collaborated with director Tomy Wigand. Subsequently, he worked as a producer at Ziegler Film GmbH under Regina Ziegler. In 2014 alone, he and his team secured six daily TV ratings victories, which continued in 2015 and 2016. Among these accomplishments was the new TV series Lena Lorenz - Welcome to Life on ZDF, consisting of 16 episodes, each 90 minutes long. This was followed by other Primetime productions such as the ZDF thriller Das Dorf der Mörder, the comedy Frau Pfarrer und Herr Priester for ARD, and the RTL pilot Doc Fitz - Einmal zweites Leben. In 2017, he collaborated with director Marc Rothemund to bring the book Mein Blind Date mit dem Leben to the big screen. That same year, together with director Tomy Wigand, he founded simonsays. pictures GmbH. Since then, they have produced the feature film Die Geschichte des Trümmermädchens Charlotte Schumann, the animated children's movie Latte Igel und der Wasserstein, and the documentary Near and Elsewhere.
