Craig Anthony Perkins is an award-winning filmmaker, composer, multi-instrumentalist, photographer, and designer who began his musical journey at age four and developed an early passion for filmmaking. Throughout his career, he has held both creative and technical roles within the entertainment industry, working with companies such as Philips Media, Universal Interactive Studios, and AVID. His diverse experience includes video game design, data management, technical writing, film post-production, location sound recording, sound design, and music composition.
Through his company, Genshi Media Group, Craig has released multiple albums on the iTunes Music Store, had his photography featured in magazines and galleries, and designed indie art toys like the highly sought-after Broken Heart Robot. This character has sparked discussions with two TV networks about creating an animated series based on the toy.
Currently, Craig is fully focused on filmmaking, serving as both a composer and director, leveraging his extensive background and skills.
In 2011, as a director, his debut short film "Remembrance (a Ghost Story)", filmed entirely on an iPhone 4, earned 2nd Place Grand Prize at the inaugural iPhone Film Festival. Subsequently, he was invited to create and premiere an exclusive film at the 2012 Macworld Expo in San Francisco. The film, titled "Isobel & The Witch Queen," debuted on the expo's main stage before a large audience as part of the iPhone Filmmakers/Directors talks.
In spring 2012, his third short film, "The Haunting at Danford Cabin," his first stop-motion animation, won Best Animation and the Grand Prize for Best Overall Film at the 2012 iPhone Film Festival. It was also showcased at various international festivals, including The Smalls in the U.K., the Canadian Film Centre's Shorts Nonstop Festival, Sitges Film Festival in Spain, and the Olleh Film Festival in South Korea.
As a composer, Craig has scored numerous short films beyond his own, such as "No Way In" directed by Sam Mussari, "Rat: A Fable" directed by Michael Stevantoni, and "Stairwell" directed by Joel Brandner. More recently, he composed the music for his first feature film, SyFy Channel’s "Zombie Tidal Wave," followed by scores for "Arctic Apocalypse" (SyFy U.K.) and "Clown" (Amazon Prime).
