Atkins Estimond is rapidly establishing himself in the entertainment world, portraying a diverse range of characters—from doctors to hackers, from easygoing optimists to gangsters with a personal code of ethics. He currently stars in Jerry Bruckheimer's acclaimed drama series "Hightown" (STARZ), alongside Monica Raymund and James Badge Dale. Set in Provincetown, Massachusetts, the show follows National Marine Fisheries Service agent Jackie Quiñones (Raymund), whose life spirals after she discovers a body on the beach, a victim of the opioid crisis. Determined to solve the murder, she clashes with Cape Cod Interagency Narcotics Unit sergeant Ray Abruzzo (Dale). Estimond excels as Osito, a tough gangster of Haitian and Dominican heritage linked to the case. Critics have lauded his performance, calling him "a killer with a philosophical cast of mind" (The New York Times) and noting that "with every episode, Estimond adds new fascinating layers to his character" (RogerEbert.com). Season two of "Hightown" premiered on October 17, 2021.
Estimond will also appear in the upcoming BBC One and Netflix four-part thriller "Inside Man," starring opposite Stanley Tucci (premiere date to be announced). The series intertwines the stories of a death row inmate in the US, a vicar in a quiet English town, and a math teacher trapped in a cellar, whose lives intersect in unexpected ways. He is additionally recognized for his role as the ever-optimistic Gerson in AMC and Paul Giamatti’s critically praised dramedy "Lodge 49," alongside Wyatt Russell.
His other television credits include recurring parts on FOX's "The Resident," Crackle's "StartUp" with Adam Brody, and PlayStation Network’s "Powers" starring Sharlto Copley. He has guest-starred on ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder," YouTube Premium's "Step Up: High Water," truTV's "Bobcat Goldthwait's Misfits & Monsters," OWN's "Love Is_," and SundanceTV's "Hap and Leonard."
In film, Estimond’s work includes Roadside Attractions' "Trial by Fire," Samuel Goldwyn Films' "Lila & Eve" featuring Jennifer Lopez and Viola Davis, Gravitas Ventures' "Folk Hero & Funny Guy" and "An Actor Prepares," Columbia Pictures' "SuperFly," Universal Pictures' "Get On Up," and his debut in "Dumb and Dumber To" alongside Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in Atlanta by Haitian immigrant parents, Estimond began acting in high school during his freshman year. His passion for acting was sparked by watching films as a child and seeing his older brother perform at the local Boys & Girls Club. After graduation, he initially pursued music, playing guitar in a band, before focusing on acting. He landed roles in "Dumb and Dumber To" and Lifetime’s popular series "Devious Maids." Estimond also studied Theatre at the University of North Georgia to refine his skills while continuing to secure film and television roles. Choosing to commit fully to acting, he has worked steadily since. He aspires to increase his visibility to inspire more Haitians to enter the entertainment industry and to tell stories about Haiti and its rich culture.
Estimond lives in Atlanta with his wife, Kristen, and their two daughters. When not filming, he enjoys family time, playing music, and traveling.
