Raised in South Florida, Knox began creating short films and animated cartoons early on, inspired by Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock. Growing up in a culturally diverse family, he honed his talent for mimicry and developed a keen ear for dialogue. Influenced by writers such as Ray Bradbury and Richard Matheson, Knox formed a lasting passion for writing during his early teens. His undergraduate years were marked by writing short stories, acting and directing in theater, and competing in intercollegiate forensic (speech) contests. Between college and graduate school, he completed freelance design and animation work for clients including MCI, Disney, Toshiba, Marriott Resorts, and various professional sports franchises. After attending USC's Graduate School of Cinema/Television, Knox wrote and directed his debut feature film, "All Over Again" (2000), supported by investors and friends from the Eastern United States.
Filmed over 23 days in October, the movie featured Robert Loggia, Craig T. Nelson, and John Amos. "All Over Again" earned Knox the "Best Drama" award at the 2001 Santa Clarita International Film Festival and received praise at other festivals nationwide. Following a re-edit in 2007, the film was retitled "Against Time" for its domestic home video release.
Knox develops stories and scripts for film and television, having completed projects across various genres for more than eighteen independent film producers, as well as several video games. His family-oriented projects include "Fireflyz," a quirky animated series; "Cat Tale," an animated feature for Imagi USA; and "The Noble Key," an animated sports-themed series for Imagi and Adidas. His horror-comedy "War Monkeys" was in development with director David Ellis ("Snakes on a Plane") attached until Ellis's untimely passing.
Currently based in Los Angeles, Knox enjoys swimming, studying marine biology, and learning from his adopted dogs, Sophie and Nora. Alongside his partner Scott Blanding at Imagination Bay, he is developing multiple projects for both feature films and television.
