If anyone had told you that a village boy from Bangladesh, a poor third-world nation with an unpronounceable name, could become one of the most promising, multi-talented young actors with undeniable charisma, intensity, talent, and drive, you might have laughed at the idea of such an extraordinary breakthrough in Hollywood… until you met Priyom Haider.
He maintains an almost perfect physique without the use of performance-enhancing drugs, thanks to his unmatched dedication and discipline in fitness, which was showcased on The Late Late Show with James Corden (2015). In addition, he speaks multiple languages and can authentically adopt almost any accent just by learning it phonetically. Beyond acting, he excels in writing, directing, producing, editing, photography, and modeling. He is also trained in film and stage combat and can quickly learn fight choreography due to his elite fitness and athleticism. Remarkably, none of these skills were acquired in college, where he earned two bachelor's degrees in Telecommunications (Journalism) and Finance from The University of Georgia at a young age. Instead, he developed these talents out of necessity, thinking creatively and expanding his skill set in the classic Hollywood tradition to distinguish himself and advance his career.
When he first arrived in Los Angeles from Georgia, he had no prior knowledge of the industry—only ambition and self-belief. He didn’t even have a survival job lined up. Despite the risks, he stayed focused, persevered, and grew.
At the start of his career, unwilling to wait anxiously or rely on luck to book a role that would qualify him for the Screen Actors Guild, he took control and earned his SAG membership by writing, producing, directing, and starring in his debut comedy project, Cheater’s Relief (2012).
He is also a strong advocate for equal opportunities for minorities, diversity, and the LGBT community, as reflected in his award-winning comedy film, Match.con (2016).
Despite having an unusual and difficult-to-pronounce name, his unique, internationally ambiguous look allows him to break free from stereotypical roles often assigned to South East Asian actors.
Like his greatest heroes—Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Lee, and Sylvester Stallone—he is committed to staying true to himself and making a global impact through his career to serve a larger purpose: giving back to the community and supporting future generations.
