Antoni D'Ocon began his career in the film industry in 1976 by distributing his first film and establishing the D'Ocon Films trademark. After producing several fictional short films, he focused on animation, which became his specialty. In 1989, he revolutionized animation with the creation of the D'Oc Animation System, an innovative and versatile computerized production method patented in both Europe and the US.
D'Ocon was the first to produce computer animation for television on an industrial scale with the TV series "The Fruitties," which he wrote, produced, and directed. This series achieved global success, reaching numerous TV and film markets. His success continued with productions like "Delfy and His Friends," "Basket Fever," and "Sylvan." In the mid-1990s, he began co-producing TV series with leading companies, including "Captain Fracasse" with French company Ellipse, "Kong" with Universal/Vivendi, BKN, and Ellipse, "Problem Child" with Universal Studios, "Enigma" and "Mumfie" broadcast on Fox Family Channel, "Wondrous Myths and Legends" co-produced with Sony Wonder, and "Pocket Dragons" with BKN and DIC. D'Ocon also created merchandising, organized events, and launched websites to promote these series.
Recognized as one of the fifteen most influential figures in the animation industry by Animation Magazine, Antoni D'Ocon has been featured and interviewed by major newspapers and specialized magazines worldwide.
Over more than two decades in the industry, D'Ocon has received numerous awards. In 1989, his first animated TV series, "Los Aurones," earned a mention at the Carrousel International du Film de Rimouski. In 2000, he received the National TV Award. The following year, he was honored with the "Salvà i Campillo Award" for the most original project in New Information and Communication Technologies, awarded by the Association of Telecommunication Engineers for an audiovisual content indexation system in animation sequences developed with Barcelona's Polytechnic University. In 2009, he won the Gaudí Award for Best Animation Movie for "Scruff: A Christmas without Santa."
D'Ocon has participated in major animation and TV industry markets and events such as MIPCOM and MIPTV in Cannes, France—both sponsored by D'Ocon in 1991—and NATPE in Las Vegas, sponsored by him in 1996.
He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Spanish collecting society for songwriters, composers, and music publishers (SGAE), and the European Film Academy. Previously, he served as president of the Animation Producers Association ANIMATS, vice-president of the Spanish Federation of Animation Producers (Diboos), and vice-president of the Federation of Spanish Audiovisual Producer Associations (FAPAE). He later embarked on a new venture in the United States, where he now resides, co-producing series and films with talent from Europe and the USA.
