Ri-Karlo Handy, originally from Oakland, California, began his career in the film industry at just 14 years old. While still in high school, he collaborated with prominent Bay Area artists such as E-40, En Vogue, and Too Short. Starting as a Production Assistant, Ri-Karlo advanced to Director by age 18, directing music videos for Master P, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Mack 10, and many others. His work also includes directing commercials, films, and documentary projects, notably the underground hit "Unsigned," which he shot, produced, and edited. In 2003, Ri-Karlo transitioned to television, editing shows like Kitchen Nightmares for FOX and Pros Vs. Joes for SPIKE TV. He later took on showrunning roles for unscripted programming on BET, MTV, TLC, and OWN, including executive producing Keyshia Cole's "The Way It Is" for BET and Nick Cannon's Son of a Gun for MTV. By 2011, he moved into TV show creation as VP of unscripted development at New Wave Entertainment, where he developed several series including Buying for Billionaires for E!. In 2013, Ri-Karlo combined his extensive experience as VP of Original Programming at BOUNCE TV, overseeing the network’s music specials, stand-up specials, sitcoms, and unscripted shows, including the popular sitcoms Family Time and Mann and Wife.
