Carlotta Summers is a multiple award winning, biracial actress, and director based in NYC. She holds a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, having studied under the Experimental Theatre Wing. She's currently enrolled at USC School of Cinematic Arts for her MFA in Film and Television Production with a focus in directing.
Prior, Carlotta was the 2022 recipient of the Slamdance Mentorship Award out of 4,200 submissions for her pilot series, The Wanderer, and was featured in Variety.
The CEO of her own production company Wild Cat Film, Carlotta's first short film, Butterflies, screened at the academy qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival, won Best Short Film and Best Actress at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.
Carlotta most recently wrapped production, directing and co-starring in a short proof of concept, American Retail, with Bailey Bass (Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Interview with a Vampire) and Geneva Carr (Bull).
Carlotta was also the Associate Producer for the short film, Ponyboi, Co-Produced by Stephen Fry & Emma Thompson, which made its New York Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2019.
Her filmmaking has been described by Slamdance as, "Bold and important," and by the Blacklist as, "Rife with cynical yet spot on social commentary...and undeniable degree of artistry," while her acting has been lauded as she "delivers a damn fine performance and quakes with emotion and energy," by Film Threat.
