Justin Chapman is an acclaimed journalist, author, travel writer, actor, director, producer, editor, poet, musician, and politician. Since 2022, he has been serving as the Field Representative for Pasadena Vice Mayor and District 6 City Councilmember Steve Madison. Previously, he held roles as Digital Content Writer & Editor at Michelson Philanthropies and Communications Officer at USC's Pacific Council on International Policy. At 19, he became the youngest elected official in LA County as a member of the Altadena Town Council. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications/Media Studies from UC Berkeley in 2009 and a Master's degree in Public Diplomacy from USC in 2018. During his time at USC, he was editor-in-chief and design/layout editor of Public Diplomacy Magazine and a staff writer for the Daily Trojan. Chapman has authored hundreds of articles across over two dozen print and digital outlets, including KPCC/LAist, Alta Journal, Huffington Post, LA Weekly, Berkeley Political Review, Pasadena Weekly, and Pasadena Now. His travel book, "Saturnalia: Traveling from Cape Town to Kampala in Search of an African Utopia," was published by Rare Bird Books in 2015. He creates, hosts, and produces the TV shows "Well Read with Justin Chapman," "NewsRap Local with Justin Chapman," and "Pasadena Monthly with Justin Chapman." Chapman has served on Pasadena Media's Citizens Advisory Committee and is a member of the Los Angeles Press Club, where he has earned 10 journalism awards, including three first-place honors. As a professional child actor, he appeared in numerous commercials, TV shows, plays, and films such as "Problem Child 3: Junior in Love," "BASEketball," "Jingle All the Way," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Family Matters," "The Pauly Shore Show," "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," and "Weird Science." In addition to his professional pursuits, he enjoys golfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, playing soccer, and is a father.
