Patricia Ayame Thomson is a UCLA graduate holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts. She has guest-starred in over 50 network television shows, including "Seinfeld," "Friends," "Wings," "Wayans Bros.," "Saved by the Bell" (The New Generation), "Designing Women," "Days of Our Lives," "(The New) WKRP in Cincinnati," "Life Goes On," "Raven," "Pointman," "Thunder Alley," "Street Justice," and many others.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Patricia is fluent in both Japanese and English. As a teenager, she was a top model in Tokyo for more than five years, beginning at age thirteen. One of her most prestigious roles in Japan was as a campaign model for Shiseido Cosmetics. She attended an American Department of Defense school at Yokota Air Force Base.
After high school, Patricia moved to the United States to study Theatre Arts at UCLA. While there, she became an original member of The Actors Gang, founded and led by Tim Robbins. One of her most memorable experiences with The Actors Gang was performing before Sir Laurence Olivier, who sat in the front row of a modest Equity Waiver theater in Hollywood.
Patricia’s first major television role after graduating from UCLA earned her membership in the Screen Actors Guild. She guest-starred on "T.J. Hooker" in the episode "Chinatown," portraying Nancy Kwan as William Shatner’s daughter.
Shortly after, she secured an ongoing position as a game show model on NBC’s morning game show "The Time Machine," hosted by John Davidson with Charlie Tuna as announcer.
Next, Patricia landed a regular role on the CBS series "Crazy Like a Fox," starring Jack Warden and John Rubenstein. Set in San Francisco, she played Allison Lee, John Rubenstein’s secretary.
She appeared in the feature film "Rising Sun" as an accident news reporter, directed by Philip Kaufman and starring Wesley Snipes and Harvey Keitel. Patricia also starred in a comedy action-adventure pilot for FOX-TV titled "Chameleon" alongside Ed Begley Jr.
Over the years, Patricia performed with the East West Players in productions such as "The Maids," "Hedda Gabler," and "Doughball." "The Maids" earned a Dramalogue Award for Best Ensemble. Additionally, she traveled extensively for modeling work with top cruise lines, visiting romantic ports in Italy, Greece, and the South of France with Crystal Cruises, and sailing to Vietnam with Seabourn Cruises. She values traveling as one of the perks of her acting career.
Patricia received a Transitional Scholarship from the Screen Actors Guild Foundation to further her education in Library and Information Science, earning her master’s degree in 2016.
A true globetrotter, Patricia relocated to Canada to join her husband and continues to pursue her acting career. She recently secured her first role in a Canadian television series and looks forward to many more opportunities.
Previously, Patricia’s TV treatment received an honorable mention, ranking among the top 200 out of 3,000 submissions in the HBO New Writers Contest.
