Mikki Willis is the founder of Elevate, a production company dedicated to creating socially conscious media. As a filmmaker, he has gained rare access to the minds and hearts of world-renowned philosophers, scientists, physicists, doctors, authors, shamans, and human development experts. As a director, he has led numerous award-winning and record-setting projects, including theatrical features, network television specials, commercials, and music videos for platinum artists.
In 2006, Mikki's passion for uniting creatives led to the creation of the Elevate Film Festival. Within three years, the festival became the world's largest single-screen film event, attracting up to 6,000 attendees per screening and filling prestigious venues such as The Kodak Theater, The Pasadena Civic, and The Nokia L.A. Live.
In 2011, Mikki received the Conscious Life Humanitarian Award and was named a member of the Transformational Leadership Council. In 2013, he co-created an innovative blended learning program for Harvard-Westlake, now being incorporated into the curriculum of 3,500 high schools. In 2014, he co-directed the documentary Neurons to Nirvana: Understanding Psychedelic Medicines. From 2015 to 2016, Mikki worked on completing Be Brave, his latest feature-length documentary.
Mikki and his wife Nadia Salamanca are developing Elevate Family, a new online platform for children and parents. They live life to the fullest in Ojai, California, with their two sons, Azai and Zuriel.
