Andrew Fognani was born in Denver, Colorado. After earning a degree in finance with accounting from the University of South Carolina, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.
In Los Angeles, Fognani discovered a new passion and sought to train as a mixed martial artist. He spent time in Thailand mastering Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, winning a gold medal at the 2007 Southeast Asian Grappling Games in Bangkok. Following injuries and surgeries, he decided to end his competitive fighting journey but continues to train for enjoyment.
To build a solid foundation in the industry, Fognani studied acting at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre, The Meisner Center, The Will Wallace Acting Company, Joseph Pearlman, LA On Camera, and with Amy Lyndon.
While studying, Fognani combined his business skills with his artistic talents to produce and act, founding the production company Unfiltered Productions. This led to the creation of Reign, a film about an American soldier (Fognani as Delano) profoundly affected by an encounter with an Iraqi woman who survives a deadly skirmish. Written and directed by Kimberly Jentzen, the film was shot with Academy Award®-nominated cinematographer Jack N. Green (Unforgiven, Bridges of Madison County, Girl, Interrupted) and Academy Award®-winning sound mixer David MacMillan (Twilight, Knocked Up, Speed). Produced by Unfiltered Productions and First Tooth Productions, Reign earned Best Short and Audience Choice Awards at the New York International Independent Film Festival (NYIIFF), Louisville International Festival of Film (LIFF), and others.
Fognani continued refining his craft through various short films and projects. He co-produced and portrayed Billy in the feature "Red Wing," directed by his friend and colleague Will Wallace, Executive Produced by Terrence Malick and Ed Pressman, starring Bill Paxton, Luke Perry, Frances Fisher, Joel Carter, and Glenn Powell.
Currently, Fognani is involved in multiple projects and, as a food enthusiast, is expanding his filmmaking expertise by creating two food travel shows. These ventures have challenged him to explore new aspects of the filmmaking process.
His passions have taken him across the globe, where he remains inspired by life's diversity. With a deep love for family, friends, food, the outdoors, fitness, music, and adventure, he embraces life fully and looks forward to new experiences and learning opportunities.
