Jerry Decker is the writer and director of the acclaimed French New Wave horror film Le Dernier d'Entre Nous, as well as the upcoming crime drama Cul-De-Sac.
He earned a B.F.A. in film from Cal Arts and also studied at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. After graduation, he spent four years writing for A&E Biography. Decker then wrote and edited various shows for the History Channel, Travel Channel, Outdoor Channel, and TLC before joining Original Productions, the company behind Deadliest Catch, Storage Wars, and Ice Road Truckers.
At Original Productions, Decker served as series producer for popular Discovery shows such as Lobster Wars, Swords, and Verminators, as well as NBC’s Shark U and National Geographic’s Wild Justice. In 2011, while at Gurney Productions, he produced the special effects reality series Monster Man for SyFy before becoming executive producer of series at National Geographic Television. There, he oversaw series including To Catch a Smuggler, Inside: Combat Rescue, Inside: Secret America, and Top Secret Sites.
After relocating to New York City, Decker collaborated with ITV Studios, managing the successful Animal Planet series Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters for two seasons. Since then, he has directed numerous non-fiction series for Discovery, National Geographic, and Netflix.
