His career in the Malaysian Film Industry started in 1995 when he enrolled at FINAS and produced the award-winning short film "Felina." He received accolades for best director, screenplay, and project at the 3rd Film and Video Festival of the Malaysian Film Academy for this film. The following year, his final year project, a 10-minute short film titled V-36, shot on 16mm film, earned three prestigious awards in 1997: 2nd Best Film at the 5th National University of Malaysia (UKM) Film and Broadcast Festival, the Best Film Project KODAK Award at the 4th Convocation of Malaysia, and Best Film at the 4th Film and Video Festival of the Malaysian Film Academy.
In 2000, he produced and directed his first independent movie, "Belum Lagi Qiamat," which boosted his confidence to direct more feature films. He honed his directing skills while working as an in-house director for ASTRO (All Asia Broadcast Centre) from 2000 to 2001. After resigning, he founded his own production company, Janu Talkies Sdn Bhd, under which he produced and directed numerous TV commercials, documentaries, corporate videos, and custom projects.
Janu Talkies gained recognition by producing the Malaysian Tamil film "Aandal" in 2004, which set the highest sales record for a local Tamil VCD movie in Malaysia and Singapore. Following the completion of "Aandal" and before its cinema release, Sandosh Kesavan was offered to direct the Malay feature film "Gong" by Grand Brilliance Sdn Bhd. "Gong" was screened in cinemas across Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, and later aired on ASTRO Showcase channel 21 in December 2006. In mid-2006, he represented Malaysia at the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) Training Program on Intellectual Property for the Film and Broadcast Industry in the Asian Region (ENAC) held in Tokyo, Japan.
In 2007, he produced and directed the Malay film "Noor Halizah," which was sold to local TV channel NTV7. That same year, he completed the 'High Definition Production & Visual Effects' workshop led by Scott Billups at the National Culture, Arts & Heritage Academy in Kuala Lumpur.
Between 2008 and 2009, he directed and produced several projects including 26 episodes of the TV magazine program 'Fashion Sense' and another 26 episodes of 'Other Side of Food' for TV2, a video production workshop at FINAS (October 2009), and a corporate video for Power Fence Sdn Bhd (November 2009). In 2010, he directed a corporate video for ZECON Bhd, worked on a documentary for ASTRO Vaanavil, and directed the Tamil feature film "Maduraikaran." The following year, he directed another Tamil feature, "Yamuna."
In 2013, he directed and produced a 13-episode Tamil drama and a musical program for RTM. In 2015, he directed the Tamil feature film "Aanushtana." After a six-year hiatus, he produced and directed another Malay feature film titled "Biasan." In 2017, he was selected as a jury member for the 29th Malaysian Film Festival and invited to lecture at a Direction Workshop organized by the Sivaji Ganesan Cultural Society in Malaysia, in association with the Socio Economic Development of the Indian Community Unit (SEDIC) under the Prime Minister's Department.
His most recent film, "Operasi X," was released on 1st November 2018. In 2019, he planned to produce and direct a Malay movie titled "Felina," scheduled for release within the same year.
