Joel Palmer started his career at the age of three, appearing as Lyle the Shoeshine Boy in "Hello Dolly". Shortly after, he secured two national TV commercials for Mattel Toys, followed by ads for Woodward's and Scott Paper. Within less than a year in show business, Joel appeared in his first feature film, "Knight Moves". He then took on a principal role in the film festival production "Swindled". His first major role was in "Morning Glory", acting alongside Christopher Reeve and Deborah Raffin, who played his mother. Joel's expanding credits include "Liar, Liar", "Change of Heart", "The Man Upstairs", and "A Child Too Many". He has guest-starred in episodes of "Street Justice", "The Hat Squad", "Madison", and "Outer Limits"; co-starred twice in both "The X-Files" and "The Commish"; and appeared in the TV series "Poltergeist: The Legacy" and "Lonesome Dove". He co-hosted a children's five-day TV special, "Hopscotch", and made a guest appearance on "Sesame Street". Joel co-starred in the 20th Century Fox feature film "Far From Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog", directed by the late Phillip Borsos. The film stars Jesse Bradford as his brother, Bruce Davison as his father, and Mimi Rogers as his mother. He also starred in ABC made-for-TV movies including "Someone Else's Child" (with Lisa Hartman Black), "Freefall" (with William Devane), and "Seduction in a Small Town" (with Melissa Gilbert). Recently, Joel advanced his career by signing with Lynda Goodfriend, one of L.A.'s most renowned child managers. His Vancouver agent is Tyman Stewart from The Characters Talent Agency. Joel lives with his parents, one sister, one brother, three dogs, and a cat in The Fraser Valley, just outside Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
