Brian Canham, born on July 3, 1962, grew up in Melbourne's northern suburbs. His first job was as a cabinet maker. In 1982, he and high school friend Pierre Gigliotti formed the rock band Pseudo Echo. The group achieved seven Top 10 hits on Australian pop radio and became one of the country's most popular bands in the mid-1980s. Their biggest international hit was a dynamic cover of Lipps Inc.'s disco anthem "Funkytown." Pseudo Echo disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 1999, continuing to tour across Australia. Beyond his role as lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Pseudo Echo, Brian has also mixed, produced, and co-written platinum singles and albums for the pop band Chocolate Starfish. He co-wrote and produced "Santuary" for Origene, which reached #2 on the US Billboard Club Pop Charts. His remix of Anthony Callea's "Live for Love" became a Top 10 pop radio hit in Australia. Additionally, Brian has worked in sound design, jingle writing, artist development, and management. Through his company Mumbo Jumbo Music, he has created radio and TV commercial jingles for major clients including 7-Eleven, National Australia Bank, Just Jeans, Coca-Cola, Heinz, Kraft, Mobil, BP, Peters, Mattel, LG, Austereo, and Fisher Price.
