Delta Goodrem is a singer, songwriter, performer, actress, and philanthropist from Sydney, New South Wales, where she began training in dance, acting, singing, and piano at a young age.
At 15, she signed with Sony Music Australia. Her debut album, "Innocent Eyes," became one of Australia's highest-selling debut albums, holding the #1 spot for a record-breaking 29 weeks and reaching number two on the UK Albums Chart. It topped the Australian Albums Charts and achieved 23x platinum sales. Delta was the first artist to have five #1 singles from a debut album on the Australian charts and was named ARIA Albums Artist of the Decade in 2010 for outselling all other domestic and international artists during that period. The album won the Highest-Selling Album award at the ARIAs for two consecutive years, earned a record seven ARIA awards for a female artist in one year, and holds 16 ARIA #1 Chart Awards.
Since then, Delta has earned multi-platinum status, nine #1 singles, five #1 albums, 17 top 10 hits, 12 ARIA Awards, a Silver Logie Award, three World Music Awards, and launched her own label imprint, The House of Oz Records, with Sony Australia. Her latest album, "Wings of the Wild," debuted at #1, featuring the platinum single "Wings," her ninth #1. The accompanying sold-out arena tour set records, making her the highest-selling female Australian touring artist in 2016. This tour was recorded for a live concert DVD that reached #1 on the ARIA Music DVDs chart.
As a songwriter, Delta has created music for Olivia Newton-John, Celine Dion, Tony Bennett, Michael Bolton, LeAnn Rimes, and Westlife. She toured with Michael Bolton in the U.S., joined tenor Andrea Bocelli on his Asian, American, and Australian tours, and supported Ricky Martin on his 2015 Australian tour.
In 2015 and 2016, Delta received critical praise for her role as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "CATS," delivering a stunning rendition of "Memory" and attracting fans of all ages to musical theatre.
Starting her television career at age seven, Delta appeared in shows such as Hey Dad..! (1987), A Country Practice (1981), and Police Rescue (1989). At 16, she joined the cast of Neighbours (1985), earning a Logie Award for Most Popular New Talent. She starred in the film "Hating Alison Ashley" (2005) and guest-starred on Fox's North Shore (2004). In 2011, she voiced Little Beatrice in the animated film "Santa's Apprentice" (2010). For nine years, she was a coach on Australia's #1-rated, multi-Logie-winning show The Voice (2012), leading her artists to victories in 2016 and 2017, and also won The Voice Kids (2014). She appeared as a special guest on Nine Network's House Husbands (2012) and portrayed Olivia Newton-John in the 2018 biopic "Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted to You."
In 2017, Delta launched her debut fragrance, Delta by Delta Goodrem, which became the highest-selling fragrance in Australian history upon release. She followed with her second fragrance, "Dream," in 2018, and her third, "Destiny," in November 2019.
During the challenging year of 2020, Delta released impactful music and connected with fans worldwide. Inspired by the Australian bushfires, she wrote "Let It Rain," released in partnership with Apple Music, Sony Music, and iHeartRadio, with proceeds supporting Red Cross bushfire relief. In February, she performed before 70,000 attendees at the Fire Fight Australia concert, a national broadcast, and her rendition of "Let It Rain" was included on the event’s album, Artists Unite For Fire Fight: Concert For National Bush Fire Relief.
In April 2020, Delta was invited by Global Citizen and Lady Gaga to perform at the online One World: Together At Home festival, supporting the WHO Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund. She was the sole Australian performer in an event viewed by over 270 million people globally.
To engage with fans, Delta launched The Bunkerdown Sessions on social media, performing rare tracks, new songs, and covers. In the seventh week, she surprised fans with new music from her upcoming sixth studio album.
In June 2020, she founded the Delta Goodrem Foundation, promoting kindness, hope, and support for those facing illness, hardship, and inequality. The foundation's primary partnership is with St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, funding cellular therapy research for blood cancers and autoimmune diseases.
In November 2020, Delta released her #1 holiday album "Only Santa Knows," accompanied by the Nine Network TV special Christmas with Delta, produced by her company Atled Productions. The special featured performances with Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Olivia Newton-John, Pentatonix, Morgan Evans, Hugh Sheridan, Sheppard, and Montaigne.
In May 2021, Delta released her sixth studio album, "Bridge Over Troubled Dreams," and a book of the same title published by Simon & Schuster, both debuting at #1.
She has announced the Bridge Over Troubled Dreams arena tour across Australia and New Zealand for September and October 2021, with over $1 per ticket donated to the Delta Goodrem Foundation.
