At just 8 years old, Teesha Renee discovered her passion for theater and acting. Born in Rockford, Illinois, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, she quickly caught the performance bug and never looked back. Teesha continued to shine in theater, earning the title of Miss Drama Club after her lead role as Mrs. Stevenson in Sorry, Wrong Number. Throughout high school, she was also active in the video production club, where she directed, produced, edited, and starred in her debut short film, Red Silence. The film won first place at the technology fair, and she was honored with Best Actress and Best Movie awards from her school.
Teesha attended Georgia State University, where her love for acting persisted. She took classes at The Alliance Theater, honing her skills in film, scene study, acting techniques, and script analysis. Motivated to return to the stage, she entered her first pageant and won, earning the title Miss Georgia State University 2015, which led to her competing in the Miss Georgia Pageant. She graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
After graduation, Teesha committed to acting full time. She trained under Nick Conti at the Professional Actor's Studio, focusing on auditioning, cold reads, scene study, and improvisation, and earned Best Actress during a showcase. She became involved in Atlanta’s indie film scene, working on films, pilots, and web series including Cooking Up A Storm, Diva Interrupted, and L.U.S.T. She also guest-starred on network TV shows such as Fatal Attraction, Homicide Hunters, and Atlanta Homicide.
In 2019, Teesha landed her breakout role as a series regular on Tyler Perry's popular BET drama The Oval, playing Sharon, the girlfriend of Barry Hallsen who works at a local pharmacy.
Teesha Renee aims to excel across all mediums—film, television, commercials, print, and above all, theater, her first love. This is just the beginning for Teesha Renee, and the sky is not even her limit.
