Weronika Rosati is an internationally recognized actress. Born in Warsaw in 1984, her mother is a renowned Polish-American-Hungarian fashion designer, and her father, an Italian, is a respected politician and economist currently serving as a deputy in the European Parliament. Rosati began her film career as a teenager and rose to fame in Poland after starring in numerous popular TV series. At 19, she gained widespread acclaim with her lead role as Gemma in the cop thriller classic 'Pitbull.'
She studied at the prestigious Łódź Film School before relocating to New York, where she spent two years at the Lee Strasberg Institute. During this time, she continued acting in Polish cinema, collaborating with acclaimed directors such as Krzysztof Zanussi in 'Foreign Body,' which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Agnieszka Holland in the Oscar-nominated 'In Darkness.' In 2013, Rosati portrayed Pestka, a young Jewish woman striving to save her sister during World War II, in the critically acclaimed drama 'Manhunt.' This role earned her a Polish Film Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and the Pola Negri Award. Fluent in French, she often works in France, where she spent part of her childhood, starring in projects like the TV film 'La Dame de Pique' for France 2 and Jerome Salle's 'Burma Conspiracy' alongside Tomer Sisley and Sharon Stone.
Her major breakthrough in the United States came in 2011 when Michael Mann cast her as Naomi, a poker dealer and love interest to Jason Gedrick's character, in the HBO series 'Luck,' starring Dustin Hoffman. She appeared in four episodes and subsequently secured roles in other TV shows and films, including season 2 of 'True Detective,' 'NCIS,' 'The Iceman' with Michael Shannon, 'Bullet to the Head' opposite Sylvester Stallone directed by Walter Hill, 'Last Vegas' with Michael Douglas, and NBC's 'Rosemary's Baby.'
In 2015, Rosati completed the World War II drama 'USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage,' directed by Mario Van Peebles, playing the wife of Nicolas Cage's character. She also guest-starred on the TBS comedy 'The Detour,' appeared as a French agent in a lead guest role on 'Supernatural' directed by John Badham, and featured in the international historical epic 'I'll Find You,' directed by Martha Coolidge, opposite Stellan Skarsgård. In 2020, she co-starred in the critically acclaimed drama 'Never Gonna Snow Again,' directed by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert, which premiered in the main competition at the Venice Film Festival.
Rosati is a well-known figure in Europe, having served as a spokesperson for Avon Cosmetics and Pantene, among others. She divides her time between Warsaw and Los Angeles.
