David Brillhart is a U.S.-based producer known for his work on the one-hour television special What An Incredible Life, featuring Jordin Sparks, Myron Butler, and Kenny Lattimore, which aired on most ABC affiliates on Christmas Day 2024. He also produced the Easter special We've Got Evidence, broadcast on ABC affiliates on Easter Sunday 2024.
In 2023, Brillhart produced and directed the short film Make Believe for the CFAA Creative Interpretations project. In 2022, he produced the hour-long Christmas special Come Adore Him, which aired on ABC affiliates on Christmas Day 2022 and on NBC affiliates on Christmas Day 2023.
Brillhart served as director of photography on the independent features Hell and Mr. Fudge and Miracle at Gate 213. His international HD stock footage library is licensed through Pond5. He was also director of photography on Ripple Effect, an R&D project led by Hollywood studios and USC's ETC division, demonstrating virtual production's feasibility during budget constraints and COVID restrictions.
His corporate portfolio is extensive. Brillhart managed electronic media at Maranatha Volunteers International, a faith-based nonprofit offering global construction volunteer opportunities for churches and schools. Maranatha was among a dozen regular clients he supported over 15 years as president of Brillhart Media, a Maryland-based production company known for emotive storytelling through compelling visuals and sound.
He was among the first producers to highlight the Ethiopian famine in 1983 and has since earned numerous awards for his storytelling in diverse locations such as Ouagadougou, Mali; Alma Ata, Kazakhstan; Kathmandu, Nepal; and Machu Picchu, Peru. His work spans comedy, drama, documentary, and vérité styles.
Brillhart has served broadcast and corporate clients including Discovery Channel, National Geographic TV, Lockheed Martin, Adventist Health, Adventist Healthcare, Florida Hospital, the National Council of Negro Women, Sun Microsystems, and ADRA International.
His accolades include a Gold Angel from the Los Angeles chapter of the International Television Association, a Silver award from the Houston Film Festival, and multiple honors from the New York Festivals and the International Film and Video Festival in Chicago.
