Born in Izmir in 1980, Selen Öztürk graduated from Hacettepe University State Conservatory Theater Department in 2004. She performed in the plays "Kamelyali Kadin," "Bes Yil Gecince," "Leonce ile Lena," "Hircin Kiz," "7-Sekspir Müzikali," "Bakarsin Bulutlar Gider," and "Intiharin Genel Provasi."
She earned the Youth Special Award in the Musical/Comedy category at the Sadri Alisik Acting Awards and the Ankara Art Institute Commendable Actress Award for her role in "7-Sekspir Musical."
Öztürk was nominated for Best Actress at the Afife Jale Theater Awards for "Bakarsin Bulutlar Gider," and for Best Supporting Actress in the Comedy/Musical category at the 2018 Sadri Alisik Acting Awards for "Intiharin Genel Provasi." She composed music for the plays "The Shrewd Girl" and "Purgatory," presented at the Play Workshop, as well as for "Varolmayan Ayse'nin Maceralari" by Bab-i Tiyatro. Her work with Bab-i Tiyatro earned a Best Play Music nomination at the Theater Magazine Awards.
Karayilan has appeared in TV series such as "Cümbür Cemaat Aile," "Muhteşem Yüzyıl," "Benim Adım Gültepe," "Serçe Sarayı," "Hatırla Gönül," "Payitaht Abdülhamid," and "Azize," and in films including "Cicero," "Naim," and "Mücadele Çıkmazı."
In 2011, Selen Öztürk received the "Best Female Voice Over Artist of the Year" award from Evos Angels and Kirmiziturk. She served as the narrator for Fazil Say's 2015 album "For Children," which features works by Turkish composers accompanied by stories written for children.
She performs and sings in films, TV series, cartoons, commercials, and movies.
Öztürk plays piano, guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and accordion, and has also composed music.
She portrays the character "Gülay" in the TV series "Childhood.
