Tom Parker Bowles, son of Camilla, wife of Prince Charles, is a globally recognized food writer. He authored The Year of Eating Dangerously and E is for Eating: An Alphabet of Greed, and contributes columns to The Mail on Sunday, "Night and Day," and Tatler. For the last decade, he has been a food writer and broadcaster, maintaining a weekly column in The Mail on Sunday. Recently, he transitioned from Contributing Editor at GQ to Food Editor at Esquire magazine.
Born in 1974, Tom was educated at Summer Fields prep school in Oxford, then attended Eton College and Worcester College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Piers Gaveston Society. From 1997 to 2000, he began his career as a junior publicist at Dennis Davidson Associates public relations firm.
His debut book, E Is For Eating - An Alphabet of Greed, was published in 2004. This was followed by The Year of Eating Dangerously in October 2006, published by Ebury. His third book, Full English: A Journey Through the British and Their Food, came out in 2009 and won the Guild of Food Writers' 2010 award for best work on British food.
His upcoming book, Let's Eat, is a collection of favorite recipes from around the globe, tailored for amateur cooks, set for publication in 2012 by Anova.
On September 10, 2005, after five years of dating, Parker Bowles married Sara Buys, a fashion features editor at Harpers & Queen. She wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton at their wedding held at St. Nicholas' Anglican Church in Rotherfield Greys, Oxfordshire. Attendees included Andrew and Rosemary Parker Bowles (his father and stepmother), his mother, Charles, Prince of Wales, and his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Tom is also a seasoned presenter, having co-hosted Market Kitchen on the Good Food Channel and presented LBC Radio’s Food and Drink Programme.
He serves as Editor at Large for Pomp magazine and consults on various food-related projects, including Heckfield Place, slated to open in 2012. He is represented by Useful Talent in London, England.
