French actress Jennifer Decker began her career in theater. At 18, she took on the role of Juliet in William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet," directed by Irina Brook. The production was highly successful, touring extensively throughout France and internationally for several months. Following this, she developed an interest in film. Her next appearance was in Steve Suissa's L'amour Est Un Jeu Dangereux (2011) ("Love on the Run"), also known as "Trop Plain D'amour" and "Cavale," starring opposite Nicolas Cazalé. She portrayed Noémie, a teenage girl who flees with Simon, a boy leading a fast-paced life.
Though primarily focused on feature films, Jennifer also has a passion for short films. She featured in Pierre Bernier's Jeux de haute société (2003), a short where she played Madame Blanche. Her talents extend beyond shorts; she appeared in the acclaimed French TV series Une femme d'honneur (1996), in the episode "Les Liens du Sang," portraying Laëtitia Cervantes, a compelling and intense character.
In 2006, Jennifer had a prolific year with four film projects. She began with Jeune homme (2006), a Swiss film where she played Elodie Dumoulin, a young artist taking drawing classes who meets Sebastian, portrayed by Matthias Schoch. Sebastian, a new transfer student from abroad, stays with Elodie's family while studying in France. Following this, she starred in the praised Les amants du Flore (2006), directed by Ilan Duran Cohen and featuring Anna Mouglalis. Jennifer's role as Marina was that of a sensitive student who falls in love with her teacher, Simone de Beauvoir, and later with a lover who died during World War II.
Unexpectedly, Hollywood came calling in 2006 when producer/director Tony Bill discovered her during a vacation in Paris. She was cast as Lucienne in Flyboys (2006), a World War I action film, alongside James Franco and Jean Reno. This marked Jennifer's feature-film debut and earned her widespread acclaim from critics and audiences worldwide.
That same year, she returned to France for the TV movie Madame De Pompadour: The King's Favourite (2006), depicting the life of Jeanne Poisson, la Pompadour. Jennifer played La Dauphine, the wife of Poisson's husband's best friend, portraying an older character than usual. After collaborating with Robin Davis on this project, she took on a distinctive role in the comedy Hellphone (2007), directed by James Huth. Unlike typical Hollywood horror films, this one featured Jennifer as Angie, the love interest of Sid (Jean-Baptiste Maunier), who struggles to contact her without a cell phone. Sid purchases a mysterious phone from a cheap Chinese store for 30 Euros, unaware it is possessed by supernatural forces. The film attracted significant media attention and elevated Jennifer's career.
After a brief hiatus, Jennifer returned in 2009 with the German film Lulu und Jimi (2009), directed by Oskar Roehler and co-starring Ray Fearon. The film, an official selection at the German film festival, features Jennifer as Lulu, a wealthy and outgoing German woman who falls in love with Jimi, a black middle-class worker at a local fair. Facing family disapproval, the couple flees, traveling across states. Subsequently, she appeared in Bank Error in Your Favour (2009), a French film directed by Gérard Bitton and Michel Munz, about a group planning to rob a city bank. Jennifer played Harmony, a local employee who falls for her boss, involved in the heist. In 2010, she portrayed Laura in Living on Love Alone (2010), directed by Isabelle Czajka, acting alongside Anaïs Demoustier and Pio Marmaï. This marked her second collaboration with Demoustier, the first being Hellphone.
Most recently, Jennifer filmed the French TV movie Les amants naufragés (2010), also known as "Les Veufs," based on the novel by Jean-Christophe Delpias. She played Mathilde, wife of Stan, a writer who has just completed his latest novel, "The Castaways." Stan, a jealous partner, suspects Mathilde, a model, of infidelity. He sends a friend to spy on her, discovering she has been spending time with a handsome young fashion designer rather than her supposed parents. In a jealous rage, Stan confronts the lovers, resulting in the designer's death. The story blurs the lines between fiction and reality.
Jennifer Decker's career spans feature films, shorts, television, and theater. In 2009 and 2010, she also collaborated with Block N'Fall on the play "Novembre, Deja.
