Javier Godino, born in Spain, has worked in a variety of Spanish and international film and TV productions spanning Argentina, Mexico, the UK, the US, Colombia, Belgium, and France, as well as musicals and theatre.
In 2009, he took on a significant role in Juan José Campanella's film The Secret in Their Eyes, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, portraying the sinister Isidoro Gomez. This marked his first time playing an Argentinian character, sharing the lead with Ricardo Darín and Soledad Villamil. His film credits also include Sound of Freedom, Advantages of Travelling by Train, Everybody Has a Plan, and Into the Night.
On stage, he was a lead actor in Mecano's 2005 musical Hoy No Me Puedo Levantar, which became Spain's longest-running and highest-grossing musical. His performance as Colate earned widespread acclaim.
Godino has collaborated with notable filmmakers and actors such as Viggo Mortensen, Ricardo Darín, J.J. Campanella, Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor, Jim Caviezel, John Madden, Julian Sands, José Sacristán, Inma Cuesta, Asier Etxeandía, Bill Camp, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Elvira Mínguez, Miguel Ángel Solá, and Carla Quevedo.
He has starred in numerous theatre and musical productions, recording several songs as a lead vocalist. Additionally, he founded the band The Wyest. He enjoys composing music, writing screenplays, and aspires to become a film director.
