Spent several years in advertising before beginning a writing career in show business, initially working on the Beach Party Movies. Went on to write every fourth episode of Batman (1966) and multiple episodes for shows such as The Monkees (1965), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964), All in the Family (1971), Columbo (1971), Banacek (1972), and Kids Incorporated (1984).
Developed and created numerous TV shows including Wonder Woman (1975), That's My Mama (1974), The Electric Company (1971), The Monster Squad (1987), The Challenge of the Sexes, The Kallikaks (1977), and Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego. Also contributed to many TV movies like Coffee, Tea or Me? (1973), Gold of the Amazon Women (1979), Three on a Date (1978), For the Love of It (1980), Sky Heist (1975), among others. Acted regularly in series such as Falcon Crest (1981) and Superior Court (1986), appearing in about 60 shows in total. Provided voice work for over 1,000 commercials and was a regular voice actor in cartoons including Red Planet (1994), Superman (1988), Super Friends (1973), Ri¢hie Ri¢h (1982), and many more. Holds a Ph.D. and teaches comedy at USC Film School. Married with three children.
