Gabriel Judet-Weinshel's portfolio spans music videos, documentaries, short films, a featurette, and the recently completed feature film, '7 Splinters in Time,' featuring Edoardo Ballerini, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Austin Pendleton. '7 Splinters' received the New Visions Directing Award at the Cinequest Film Festival and was released theatrically and on VOD by Gravitas Ventures (domestically) and ITN (internationally).
A filmmaker since age six, Judet-Weinshel was shortlisted for a Rockefeller Film and Video Fellowship by his late teens. His work earned first place at AFI's Visions of US Competition and was screened at the San Francisco International Film Festival. His films have since been showcased worldwide, including Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Brazil, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, the UK, Canada, Egypt, and numerous US festivals.
He directed Martin Scorsese in a short tribute to actor Victor Argo, which was screened at Lincoln Center.
He has directed music videos for a diverse array of artists such as Ben Harper, Braison Cyrus, Americana group Birds of Chicago, Irish singer Mark Geary, French art rocker CharlELie Couture, and Joseph Arthur, signed to Peter Gabriel's label. As a director of photography, he has worked extensively in music, shooting artists including U2, Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Judy Collins, Sheryl Crow, Lil' Wayne, Ani DiFranco, Lyle Lovett, Counting Crows, James Taylor, The Black Keys, Nicki Minaj, and Elton John.
His commercial directing and DP work includes fashion and luxury brands like H&M, IWC, Vacheron Constantin, Public School, Norisol Ferrari, and Judith Leiber, as well as corporate clients such as Microsoft, Sony, and Heineken.
He earned two local Emmy Awards for directing and cinematography on NYC Soundtracks, an eight-part documentary series about New York subway musicians for the Madison Square Garden network.
His short narrative film, 'The Heart is a Hidden Camera,' was accepted to over 20 international festivals—including LA Shorts, the International Film Festival in Bilbao, Spain, and Palm Beach International—and won the Director's Choice Award at the Black Maria Film Festival.
