Gerardo Davila was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and raised in Garland, Texas. As a first-generation American, he is the oldest of five siblings and the first in his family to pursue acting in the United States. In his late teens, he leveraged his musical talents by forming the rap group Latin Royalty, performing around the Dallas area. After the group disbanded, he continued as a solo artist under the name Master G. He later attended the University of North Texas, studying Radio-TV-Film, before shifting away from music in his early adulthood to focus on acting. At 29, he began his acting career in theatre at Teatro Dallas, where he worked with his first mentor and friend, Cora Cardona. In 2004, he joined the acting group Class Act Dallas and trained weekly for 16 years under the guidance of his late mentor Daniel Foster. Gerardo credits his success to being bilingual, consistent training, persistence, patience, and dedication. In 2015, during his time in Los Angeles, he was mentored by the late Marta Dubois. In fall 2019, he was accepted into the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, where he trained with Brigit Panet, Andrew Tidmarsh, and Salvatore Sorce, and he continues to participate in RADA’s short course programs. Over the past 22 years, he has consistently secured roles in film and television, national and regional commercials, spokes roles, print work, and voiceover for video games and anime. His voice acting credits include Chainsaw Man, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear-Punch!, Bro Santa for Gatchiakuta, Guillotine for One Piece, Dwarf Chief for An Adventurer's Daily Grind, and Father Chao for Daily Life of the Immortal King. His television appearances include Chicago Fire, Better Call Saul, Walker, The Purge, Queen of The South, and The Vampire Diaries. In 2021, he earned his first recurring role on Paramount’s TV drama Long Slow Exhale. Recent feature films he has starred in include Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Suicide Squad, both directed by James Gunn, as well as Adam the First and Grace by the Shadows. Gerardo is currently in pre-production for his directorial debut and is set to begin filming Jeremiah Alexander’s crime thriller Dead Timing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
