Tyler Young is a documentary film and television producer dedicated to meaningful storytelling that captures the heart of the human experience. He has served more than 450 productions over the last 25 years as a Creative Producer, Director, Story Producer, Line Producer, Production Manager, Location Manager, and AD. He delivers exceptional creative and production management services to production companies, television networks, streamers, brands, agencies, and independent filmmakers.
Tyler's recent work includes the IMAX theatrical release Girl Climber (2025), the BBC adventure series Trailblazers (2022), and the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma (2020). He has produced large-scale historical reenactment films for the National Park Service, and international travel and adventure series for Discovery Channel, History Channel, and National Geographic Television. In the food, home, and lifestyle programming genres, he wrote, produced, and directed more than 200 episodes of cooking, competition, house tour, and home renovation formats for Food Network and HGTV. On the commercial side, he has produced national campaigns and branded content for Lockheed Martin, The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Dish Network, Bad Boy Mowers, and Charlotte's Web, including The Cliffside Shop for 37.5 Technology, which earned both a Cannes Lion and a Clio Award in 2017.
Before working in film and television, Tyler was a biochemist sequencing protein samples for academic researchers - until a late-night epiphany in the lab sent him to film school. He is based in Honolulu, Hawaii and Denver, Colorado, where you'll likely find him hiking, diving, surfing, mountain biking, or climbing.
