After completing his acting training at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen, Wiggers worked at theaters in Düsseldorf, Bremen, Essen, and Bochum, collaborating with directors such as Andrea Breth, F.P. Steckel, Wolf Redl, H.G. Heyme, Herbert Koenig, N.P. Rudolf, and B.K. Tragelehn. His roles include Lancelot in Der Drache; Ruprecht in Der zerbrochene Krug; Mercutio in Romeo und Julia; Juan in Yerma; Clov in Endspiel; Wurm in Kabale und Liebe; Orsino in Was ihr wollt; young Faust in Faust I; Melchtal in Wilhelm Tell; the title role in Brand; Kandaules in Gyges und sein Ring; Theseus in Oedipus auf Kolonos; Laertes in Hamlet; Judas in Corpus Christi; Martin in Die Beichte; Jean-Michel in La Cage aux Folles; Thenardier in Les Misérables; Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady; and Bill in the Hamburg production of Mamma Mia! as well as on an international tour. He also portrayed Sam in the Berlin production of Mamma Mia!. In collaboration with Roman Polanski, Wiggers developed the character of Chagal for the musical adaptation of Dance of the Vampires. Additionally, Wiggers appeared in numerous television and film productions, including Tatort, Polizeiruf 110, Die Kommissarin, Praxis Bülowbogen, Ein Fall für zwei, Im Namen des Gesetzes, Der letzte Zeuge, Balko, Der Clown, Eine unter tausend, Meine Tochter, Mein Leben, In aller Freundschaft, and Die Deutschen.
