Amanda Murphy is a cinematographer and editor based in Connecticut, known for her work across narrative film, digital media, and branded content. A graduate of Emerson College with a concentration in cinematography and editing, Amanda has collaborated with a diverse range of clients including Conde Nast, Enthusiast Gaming, and Yale University.
She is an Assistant Editor for Sam & Colby, a popular YouTube channel with over 14 million subscribers, where she contributes to post-production editing, captioning, and project organization. Her previous work includes producing and editing content for Yale's online education initiatives, including The Science of Well-Being for Teens, and creating short-form video content for Enthusiast Gaming's Wisecrack brand, where she helped grow their TikTok and Facebook audiences significantly.
Amanda has served as director of photography on a range of short films and music videos, including Lessons in Red (dir. William Schwartz), which won Best Student Film at the Core International Film Festival and was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 2020 Twin Tiers International Film Festival. Her work in 48 Hour Film Festivals, such as Star Crossword Lovers and Squatch Squad, has also received recognition.
Outside of filmmaking, Amanda is an accomplished photographer. Her photos have been featured by the Grand Canyon Conservancy, the Esplanade Association, SnapTravel, and Unsplash, where one of her images was selected for feature by brands like Apple and Medium. She continues to explore visual storytelling through both motion and still imagery, and is always seeking new creative collaborations.
