Maxx Maulion is a Manager based in Los Angeles and New Mexico. Known professionally as Maxx, he is a writer and producer, as well as a retired actor. He began his entertainment career as an actor in Los Angeles, where he built numerous connections with agents and casting directors that later benefited his management career. After spending a year in Beijing starring in the feature film Empires of the Deep, Maxx returned to write and produce Tony Tango, a Latin Ballroom Dance comedy. Collaborating with Andres DeOliveria, he produced the film and secured distribution. Tony Tango premiered at the New York International Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, San Diego Film Festival—where it won the Audience Award—and Chicago Comedy Film Festival, where it earned Best Comedy. During the film’s festival run, Maxx met influential talent manager Barry Katz, who offered him a position supporting all aspects of his business. Maxx eagerly accepted the chance to learn from the man who helped launch careers of Dave Chappelle, Wanda Sykes, Marc Maron, Whitney Cummings, Jim Gaffigan, and Tracy Morgan. Over the next five years, Maxx co-produced the podcast Industry Standard with Katz, coordinating notable guests such as Kenya Barris, Judd Apatow, Russell Peters, Dennis Rodman, Caitlyn Jenner, Patricia Heaton, and Estee Adoram. He also managed clients at Barry Katz Entertainment, including Kirk Fox, Bill Bellamy, Ben Gleib, and Brad Williams, and assisted in producing several projects, notably the groundbreaking documentary I Killed JFK.
