Josie DiVincenzo holds a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY Fredonia and an MFA in Drama from the University of Southern California. After 27 years in Los Angeles working in theatre, TV, and film—with guest and principal roles on prime-time shows such as Friends, E.R., 24, CSI: NY, Desperate Housewives, Judging Amy, Beverly Hills 90210, Nash Bridges, General Hospital, and The Young and The Restless—she also appeared in various indie and short films, as well as feature films including Daredevil (with Ben Affleck), Marshall (with the late Chad Boseman), and Bashira (with Liam Aiken).
Josie returned to her hometown of Buffalo, NY, to portray Lady Macbeth in the award-winning all-female production of Macbeth at Shakespeare in Delaware Park (SDP), the second-largest free outdoor Shakespeare festival in the country. She continues to be active in Buffalo's vibrant professional theatre scene, with performances as Mistress Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor (SDP), two one-woman shows, and various plays at the Jewish Repertory Theatre, Kavinoky Theatre, Buffalo Laboratory Theatre, Irish Classical Theatre, Lancaster Opera House, Shea's Smith Theatre, and smaller venues in Rochester, NY.
As a private coach, Josie has taught a range of acting techniques—from Shakespearean performance to on-camera work—at NYU’s StoneStreet Studios, Niagara University, SUNY Fredonia, and Los Angeles’s Actor’s Bootcamp. Known for her ability to identify unique personal behaviors in each actor, she has successfully coached professionals across Los Angeles, Buffalo, and New York City, guiding them to tap into their own beliefs and experiences to enrich every character and script.
Her accolades include multiple Outstanding Actor Awards from Artvoice, Buffalo Spree’s Best of WNY, and Best Actress at the NY 48 Hour Film Project. Josie’s philosophy: “Your own truth is your art; when combined with imagination, words, and circumstance, your performance becomes specific, compelling, and transformative for both you and your audience. Developing the habit to access your truth fuels every moment in your character’s life.”
