Danny Irizarry is an actor born in Quito, Ecuador, who grew up in the Chicago area before relocating to Los Angeles. From an early age, he developed a deep love for storytelling, shaped by classic films, literature, and television. Some of his earliest influences include watching Flight of the Navigator with his mother, hearing The Lord of the Rings read aloud by his father, and staying up late watching Family Ties with his sister.
Danny began his formal training in theater at the Theatre of Western Springs and later studied improv at Second City in Chicago. On stage, he performed a wide range of roles, including Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Buddy the Elf in the stage musical, experiences that helped develop his sense of character, physicality, and emotional accessibility.
His early film work began in Chicago with student and independent projects, which confirmed his desire to pursue acting professionally. He made his television debut on Chicago P.D. as Colin Blake, a misunderstood swim team member whose storyline left a lasting impression. He went on to appear in several independent features and pilots before ultimately making the move to Los Angeles.
In 2022, Danny appeared in Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, portraying a young Michael J. Fox. The role marked a significant milestone in his career and brought together many of the influences that first drew him to acting.
In addition to his work on screen, Danny is also a filmmaker with experience in directing, editing, and cinematography. He frequently collaborates with a close creative team on projects that have received festival recognition and awards. As an actor, he is drawn to emotionally grounded, character-driven stories and continues to focus on roles that center empathy, intelligence, and quiet strength.
