Eric Papa is an experienced professional with over two decades in the film and television industry. He began his career in 1999 at Good Machine, an independent film company, where he worked as an Acquisitions Executive in international sales. After Good Machine was acquired by Universal Pictures, Eric continued as a Buyer at Focus Features, a newly formed production and distribution company. He then moved into a Creative/Production Executive position at the production company This Is That, collaborating closely with producers Ted Hope, Anne Carey, and Anthony Bregman to develop and produce a diverse range of films.
Following his time at This Is That, Eric broadened his production experience by freelancing in the Locations Department on numerous prominent projects, eventually becoming one of New York City's top Location Scouts and Managers. He is a proud member of the Location Managers Guild International (LMGI).
In response to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Eric adapted his skills to meet industry demands by becoming a Production Health Supervisor. In this role, he utilized his logistical and creative problem-solving talents to design and enforce health and safety protocols, aiding the safe resumption of film and television production.
Now based in New York City, Eric works as a location scout, filmmaker, producer, and photographer, with credits in over 60 feature films and television projects. His work has taken him across countless streets and landscapes, driven by a deep curiosity and passion for uncovering hidden stories.
A keen observer, Eric is attracted to the subtle details and rhythms of urban life, often finding inspiration in moments of quiet beauty amid the city's hustle. These fleeting instances fuel his cinematic vision, turning the ordinary into compelling visual stories. Guided by the belief that "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it," he strives to capture the unseen in ways that resonate with audiences.
