Philip Marlatt is a producer, line producer, and production manager with a diverse career spanning independent feature films, scripted and nonfiction television, digital media, and multicamera studio productions. He has produced eighteen feature films and hundreds of television and digital episodes, building productions from the ground up while managing the creative and logistical challenges inherent in independent filmmaking and television production.
Marlatt started his career producing independent narrative features across various genres, including horror, comedy, drama, and family films. Primarily working as a producer and line producer, his projects have gained festival acclaim and worldwide distribution through platforms such as Netflix, Peacock, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Roku, FilmRise, Tubi, Google Play, and Fandango.
His feature credits include Dead Awake (2016), penned by Final Destination creator Jeffrey Reddick and starring Jocelin Donahue, Jesse Bradford, Brea Grant, and Lori Petty; The Walking Deceased (2015), which became Netflix’s most-streamed film shortly after release; The Age of Reason (2014), winner of eleven festival awards; and Dolphin Kick (2019), which Marlatt also directed. Produced on a budget of about $200,000, Dolphin Kick exceeded expectations after being highlighted by The Washington Post as a recommended family film alongside major studio releases and later securing worldwide distribution.
As streaming platforms and digital media transformed the entertainment landscape, Marlatt expanded into television and premium digital content. His digital producing credits include popular franchises such as Honest Trailers (2012), Prank It Forward (2014), Mysteries Decoded (2019), Odd Jobs (2014), and The Screen Junkies Show (2011). He collaborated with Kate Freund, Jordan Harris, and Eli Roth on the mini-series Afterlife (2017), produced through Roth’s horror platform CryptTV.
Marlatt subsequently broadened his scope to large-scale television production. At Generation Genius, he managed physical production for four multicamera mathematics and science series totaling 172 episodes. More recently, he has led production operations with Morningstar Entertainment on Mysteries Decoded (2019) for The CW and the INSP original series Wild West Chronicles (2020) and Elkhorn (2024), a historical drama depicting the early life of Theodore Roosevelt.
