Born in Caracas, Venezuela, with Spanish heritage through her father from the Canary Islands, Mercedes was raised between Venezuela and the USA.

Mercedes began her artistic journey as a child model and has been involved in the arts for nearly twenty years. As a model, she represented major brands across Europe, the USA, and South America, including 7UP, Lee Cooper, Bebe, the lead in the MDO video "Te Quise Olvidar," Nestlé, Prada, Movilnet cellphones, Pisces Swimwear, Special K, Blue Perfumes, COX Cable, Comcast, McCafe, Trivial Pursuit, Coca-Cola, Tylenol, and many more.
At her family's urging, she attended law school and earned her degree. Despite receiving acting offers in Venezuela, she chose to prepare thoroughly before pursuing her acting career. She trained intensively for 4 to 6 years with the renowned acting coach Eric Morris—who has trained stars like Johnny Depp, Jack Nicholson, Brandon Lee, and Arnold Schwarzenegger—and continues to follow his method.
Following her dedicated training, Mercedes took significant steps in film both in Venezuela and Los Angeles, working with notable actors such as Eva Longoria ("Hustler's Instinct"), Randall Batinkoff ("True Love"), Vince Vieluf ("Grind," Warner Bros.), among others. Both "Hustler's Instinct" and "True Love" screened at major film festivals in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, Houston, and more. "True Love" received five awards, including Best Director, Best Independent Film, and Best Script, with the entire cast receiving critical acclaim.
While visiting Venezuela on vacation, she was discovered by a major TV network executive and offered a leading role in one of the country’s first sitcoms. She accepted and worked on the series "Gato Tuerto" for two years, which became a major ratings success.
After returning to Los Angeles post-"Gato Tuerto," she quickly secured roles in films and prominent national commercials.
In 2011, she played a lead role in the film "Disrupt/Dismantle," also known as "Cartel War." This film was distributed by Moving Pictures Film & TV (representing titles like "Henry’s Crime") and screened at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival’s Film Exposition. It competed in over twelve film festivals, including Hollywood, Vail, Beverly Hills, Houston, Newport Beach, Montreal, Nashville, and Lake Arrowhead, winning five awards such as Best Production, Best Feature Film, and Best Ensemble Cast.
That same year in Venezuela, she starred in the film "Last Body" ("Ultimo Cuerpo"), participating in numerous film festivals in Colombia (Cartagena, Bogotá), Cuba, and Venezuela (including Merida FF).
In 2012, she appeared in "Solo en Casa" ("Alone at Home"), a Venezuelan comedy where she played a leading role. The film ranked eighth among the most-watched in Venezuela.
In the U.S., Mercedes became the face of AT&T’s national campaign and Comcast, working consistently as a model and spokesperson. For the Hispanic market, she has collaborated with TV Azteca and served as the image for Toyota.
Mercedes is a member of the advisory board for The Artist and Athletes Alliance and will participate in several upcoming events for the organization. Commercially, she represents Comcast, Toyota, and AT&T nationwide in the U.S., with over 80 commercials and brands throughout her career. She has appeared in more than 10 films and is regarded as one of the most talented actresses from her country, rapidly expanding her international presence.
Mercedes is represented exclusively by Splitvision Entertainment as Talent, Co-Producer, and Partner, alongside Optimism Management. Commercially, she is represented by Imperium 7 Agency and the well-known Q Management Agency.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian, Mercedes has also been a Greenpeace activist and supports various ecological causes, as well as initiatives for children, peace, and animal rights.
