Since 2006, Maura Anderson has been active in independent film production. She served as production manager on acclaimed films such as the Academy Award-nominated Winter's Bone, Sundance favorite On the Ice, and Ceremony. Over the years, she has produced numerous features and series, collaborating with notable figures like Rodrigo Garcia, Julia Stiles, and Jon Avnet. Anderson made her directorial debut with Heartland, starring Laura Spencer and Beth Grant, which won the audience award at its 2016 Cinequest premiere, screened at over 20 festivals worldwide, and eventually became available on Hulu. She produced The Innocent Man, a six-part Netflix documentary series with Clay Tweel and Campfire TV, as well as The Most Dangerous Animal of All, a four-part FX documentary series with Kief Davidson and Campfire. Recently, she co-executive produced Menudo: Forever Young, a four-part HBO series directed by Angel Manuel Soto and Kristofer Rios for Muck Media, and Sins of Our Mother, directed by Skye Borgman with Lightbox, soon to be released on Netflix. Additionally, she has worked on several projects for Obama and Netflix's Higher Ground. Anderson also co-directed the feature documentary Kickback, focused on FIFA corruption, alongside Clay Tweel; the film was produced by Campfire, Studio 101, and Raindog Films. She is currently involved in the production and development of several feature documentaries as both director and producer.
