Phil Arnold (1909–1968) was an American actor known for his work on screen, stage, and television. Between 1938 and 1968, he appeared in around 200 films and TV shows, mostly in minor roles. A frequent presence in Three Stooges shorts, he also featured in numerous B movies, a few A-list films, and many television episodes. Recognizable by his small stature, expressive face, and bald head, he often portrayed popular character types, both good and bad. As a villain, he convincingly played henchmen or escaped convicts. Among his few white-collar roles, he appeared as a dentist once and a professor twice. However, he was primarily cast as an everyday man, often outspoken. He frequently took on roles such as cab driver, delivery man, vendor, or police officer, and also portrayed waiters, bellboys, elevator operators, parking attendants, stagehands, and even bums.
